Manassas Park-Based SSI Certified as Virginia Values Veterans (V3) Company

Manassas Park based, SSI, was certified by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Veterans Services as a Virginia Values Veterans company.  The Virginia Values Veterans Program is a training and certification program to help employers implement nationally recognized best practices in recruiting, hiring, and retaining highly-skilled and dependable Veterans.  Steve Mackie, President of SSI said, “We are excited to do our part in investing in veterans as part of workforce.” Currently 24 percent of SSI’s workforce is comprised of veterans. Mackie continued, “Hiring veterans is a real win for us.  When we hire a veteran, we know we are getting someone that understands the meaning of service and mission accomplishment.”  Mackie is a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years as a Naval Flight Officer.  All members of SSI’s board of directors are Navy veterans also.
