Doug Donegan, President
A US Navy veteran, project manager and engineer, Doug Donegan has 25-years of experience leading and managing in the Aerospace and Defense Industry as well as the Intelligence Community. Doug is a member of Pomerado Technologies, a private equity investment firm focused on acquisitions and holdings in the DoD and Fed-Civ market space.
A licensed Professional Engineer, Doug is passionate about introducing students to opportunities and careers in STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) fields. Doug earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and Master of Science degrees in both Engineering and Technology Management from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Science in conjunction with the Wharton School of Business.
Stu Macaleer, Chief Financial Officer
Stu has over 20 years of experience leading financial organizations and M&A Activity in both small and large companies across the Federal Gov-Con Industry. Stu is also a member of Pomerado Technologies, a private equity group focused on M&A activity in the Federal marketplace. Prior to supporting SSI starting in 2022, Stu served as the CFO for McKean Defense until its sale to Noblis. Stu earned a B.S. in Quantitative Finance from James Madison University and a Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University.
April Duncan, Chief of Operations
April Duncan has over 20 years of industry experience in small business federal contracting, Human Resource management, benefits administration, and operations management. Before joining SSI in 2009, April was Senior Manager for Lettercraft Signs and also worked as the Director of Corporate Affairs for SBSI, an 8(a) woman-owned small business in Reston, VA. April has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from George Mason University, and a broad range of entrepreneurial experience. April is active in the community serving for multiple years as a PTA officer, board member and volunteering as accounting manager and Treasurer for several non-profits.
John Markowicz, Vice President of Business Development
John Markowicz brings more than 30 years of combined Naval Service and defense industry experience to SSI, where he leads efforts to expand the company’s presence across key Navy and Department of Defense programs. Based out of San Diego, Markowicz will lead capture efforts across Naval Information Warfare Command (NAVWAR) and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) for SSI.

Markowicz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University. He earned a both a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Mechanical Engineer’s degree, from the Naval Postgraduate School. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in California and holds DoD DAWIA Level III certifications in both Program Management and Production, Quality, and Manufacturing.
