Local Tech Firm Helps Budding Entrepreneurs in Macedonia
Manassas Park, VA November 11, 2015 – Steve Mackie, the President of Manassas Park based Storage Strategies, Inc. (SSI), recently participated in an international economic development project in Skopje, the capital city of Macedonia. SSI worked with LinkAcross, a Macedonia based Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) to teach budding entrepreneurs the basics of starting and launching a small business. Mackie spent a week in Macedonia working on a team of five U.S. based business leaders training prospective Macedonian business owners and helping them to develop business plans. Mackie said, “It was a pleasure to work alongside enthusiastic entrepreneurs who want to help contribute to their economy in an ethical and upright manner.” LinkAcross’ economic development program includes a three phrase training program covering business concepts, ethics, practical workshops, and mentorship. Candidates successfully completing the program with a viable business plan are eligible to receive a micro-loan to fund their business startup. LinkAcross and its economic development project are fully supported by donations from supporters in the U.S. and other countries.
LinkAcross is an NGO that links local development opportunities in the Balkans with global resources. These resources are typically expert training and consulting personnel as well as funding for certain projects. LinkAcross has a network of professionals and volunteers who donate their expertise to advance healthcare, economic, and local community development in the Balkans.
