SSI was proud to participate in the HUBZone Council’s 2023 Legislative Fly-In.  Doug Donegan, SSI’s President, and other members met with HUBZone Program Director, Lori Gillen, to discuss the current state of the HUBZone Program and the actions the SBA is taking to better serve the Small Business Community.

The HUBZone Advocates also met with two members to of the House Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure: Representatives  Hillary Scholten (MI-3) and Judy Chu (CA-28) as well as several professional staff to discuss the Council's 2023 Legislative Priorities which include:

 

• Expanding the sole source contract opportunities for HUBZone companies.

• Applying the HUBZone price evaluation preference to task orders.

• Clarifying policy to ensure price evaluation may be applied and the award of task orders on IDIQ contracts.

• Changing reporting requirements to accurately reflect contract set-asides.

• Amending the criteria for maintaining HUBZone status.

• Removing the 20% cap on metropolitan census tracts for HUBZone eligibility.
