Title: PKI Administrative Support Specialist
Location: Ft. Meade, MD


SSI is seeking a PKI Administrative Support Specialist to provide administration and organizational support to a team of Information Assurance specialists, to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) internal Information Technology (IT) Network and DISANet at DISA Headquarters, Ft. Meade, MD.  The position requires reviewing and fielding a high volume of requests for SIPR/NIPR tokens, reviewing submissions for registrations for accuracy, identifying gaps and communicating requirements to end users. The Administration Support Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Assist in reviewing audit findings and preparing assessments and remediation suggestions.  

  • Assist the PKI RA team with manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.

  • Provide documentation and SOP support to IA team to help maintain baseline system security according to organizational policies.

  • Comply with organization systems administration standard operating procedures.

  • Assist with maintaining an existing PKI system.

  • Be proactive in supporting management on technology direction, process development and implementation in keeping abreast of new technology in support of the PKI system.

  • Perform daily system operations and maintenance.

  • Provide PKI operational support.

  • Directory services oversight.

  • Familiarity with information security concepts and practices.

  • Ability to work on projects independently and in a team environment.




  • BS degree in an IT field with 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • IAT II certification (Security+ etc.)

  • Understanding of Crypto, PKI, and Authentication

  • Must be able to obtain a Registration Authority Certificate (RAC) or Local Authority Certificate (LAC).




  • Familiarity with the policies and procedures of DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework; DoDI 8500.01, Cybersecurity

  • Understanding of Identify and Access Management and the use of PKE/PKI hardware and software components in DoD IT enterprises
