Title: PKI Support Technician
Location: Ft. Meade, MD 

SSI is seeking a PKI Support Technician to support the Public Key Encryption/Public Key Infrastructure (PKE/PKI) for the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) internal Information Technology (IT) Network and DISANet at DISA Headquarters, Ft. Meade, MD. The successful candidate will be issuing and maintaining: SIPR tokens, SIPR/NIPR ALT tokens, server certificates, group certificate code signing certificates, key revocation and key recovery services.


  • Provisioning and support of the Public Key Encryption/Public Key Infrastructure (PKE/PKI) tokens

  • Perform full spectrum of PKI token and certificate issuance Operations

  • Support daily and walk-up service to the personnel located in the DISA HQ and a mail tracking /personnel tracking for field sites

  • Issue NIPR ALT and SIPR token to all walk-up and ticketed requests

  • Ensure compliance as an authority and DISA's compliance by following the DoD Certification Practice Statements (CPS) and Registration Practice Statement (RPS).

  • Perform quarterly updates of PKI information residing in the Cybersecurity PKI SharePoint site to include: Trusted Agent (TA) Lists, SIPR Token Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s), SOPs, and forms required for PKI services

  • Provide recommended mitigations to findings as a result of the DISA PKI Audits

  • Collect and archive all 2841’s 2842’s, PIN letters, nomination letters, IAW DoD and DISA PKE/I Directives, Instructions, Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Trusted Agent Lists, and Server Admin Lists per audit requirements

  • Maintain policies and procedures for issuance of PKI Registration Authority (RA) Operating Plans (OPs) PKI related SOPs


  • Current DoD Secret security clearance

  • Information Assurance Technology (IAT) Level II Certification (e.g. Security+ CE)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain IT-1 (e.g. NACI)

  • Must hold a current Registration Authority Certificate

  • Familiarity with the policies and procedures of DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework; DoDI 8500.01, Cybersecurity

  • Understanding of Identify and Access Management and the use of PKE/PKI hardware and software components in DoD IT enterprises

  • Previous experience managing and issuing PKE and PKI tokens and certificates is highly desired
