Springfield Based SSI Receives Prestigious Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve
(ESGR) Patriotic Employer Award

Washington, DC, July 20, 2010 – SSI of Springfield, VA announced it recently was
awarded the Patriotic Employer award from the Virginia Committee for Employer Support
of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). This prestigious award is given to those firms
that actively support their employee's reserve military service.
SSI’s, CEO Steve Mackie said, “As a retired Navy Commander turned entrepreneur,
I understand the importance of the business community supporting the men and woman
who serve our country in uniform as reservists.” SSI enables its employees’ participation
in the Guard and Reserve through a human resource policy that provides two weeks
of paid reserve leave per year. SSI displays a service star flag on its corporate
web site in commemoration of an employee currently serving on active duty recall
in Iraq.
The ESGR is a Department of Defense Committee that works to develop and promote
employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives,
recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving
